About me - Ben Tregoe
I heard the phrase ‘trapped value’ from Geoffrey Moore (the legend behind Crossing the Chasm) and loved it. Trapped value is value that could have big, game-changing impacts if only it could be unlocked. It is trapped by a lack of understanding about what is really happening and what efforts and metrics really matter. The biggest trapped value for most ecomm brands is finance.
I started my career in investment banking and moved to an in-house PE fund at Lazard Freres. After a detour into TV writing at Disney, I got into start ups. In the middle of my career, I led Corp Dev and Partnerships as part of my responsibilities at nanigans which was Facebook’s largest marketing partner for several years. In addition to working with eBay, Wayfair and Zappos, we worked with leading DTC brands like Peloton, Glossier, Harry’s and dozens more. I led the facebook partnership, sourced and closed our $24 million B round with Chinese investors, set up our international efforts across Asia and EMEA and managed our exit sale to Sprinklr.
I am a multi start up founder and have raised multiple rounds and sold companies. I have also dealt with many of the challenges brand leaders face including a demanding board. Prior to consulting, I was the founding CEO of Drivepoint which is a leading FP&A platform for ecomm companies and there I spoke with over two hundred founders and worked with Oats Overnight, Branch Furniture, Ibex, Geologie and a couple dozen more.
My goal is to help brand founders turn their visions into wealth.
